For the 2nd year I am a participant in the “poet/artist collaboration” held in Zumbrota, MN at the Carnegie Art Center. The exhibit opens in April and I¬†will meet the poet at the reception held April 18. The artists were able to read all the poems (I believe there were around 25) and chose one to create an image for.

I chose the poem, my brother’s death, because it mirrors my own experiences with depression. The first line of the poem caught my attention right away. The monotony of a ticking clock is what sparked the inspiration for the image.

“He is like a broken clock that is still ticking.”
