Red Winged Blackbird Project | Final Steps

A few more steps and this image will be finished!
It’s time to revisit the first plate that was carved. A brown color was mixed to be semi-transparent so the other colors will show through when printed.

This is how the brown looks with the other colors.

Then I took the same plate and started to carve away some more of the linoleum. I also cut away some of the background that I didn’t want to print. That saved me some carving time. The only parts I want to stay will be the very darkest areas.

The last color to print will be a darker shade of brown (with a little black). I thought a straight black would look too harsh. Below is the final print!
